Opened in 2005 by Chaz (Charles) Martenstein, Bull City Records is an independent vinyl record store located in Durham, NC. Predominantly vinyl (about 99%), we carry rock, indie, garage, punk, psych, jazz, electronic, hip hop, experimental, and more. New and used. We opened up on Perry St. off of 9th, and have since moved through three different locations, growing with the times. Come visit us in Downtown Durham now!

**FAQ (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)**
Do you buy records?
Yes! Depending on what they are and what kind of condition they're in. We unfortunately do not buy classical, showtunes, or orchestra music anymore, but we'll buy pretty much anything else if we can use it! My goal is to offer the most fair price based on what we plan to sell it for. We're most interested in jazz, indie, punk, experimental, and psych / garage.
Do you buy CDs?
Not right now unfortunately. I'll sometimes buy 90s / 00s indie rock or 60s / 70s jazz, but that's about it at the moment.
I don't see a record I want on your site or in your store - can you get it??
As long as it's in print, yes, we can special order records for ya! Just email us at our shop email (bullcityrecords at gmail dot com) and I'll do some poking around for ya. There's no extra charge, we just add it to one of our upcoming orders.
What's your RETURN POLICY?
LP sales are final, with factory defects being the exception. We can exchange vinyl with factory defects for a replacement or store credit. Please store your records properly and keep them out of the sun, as items that have warped once they leave the shop are not returnable.
Can I build a hold pile by purchasing records from the online store and pick them up when I'm free or have them shipped all at once?
YES. In fact this is a common thing. Just order away and I'll create the pile for ya! If you're out of town, just use the 'Store Pickup' option at checkout until you're ready to ship - then just pick the 'Media Mail' option when ready and I'll know what it means!
Do you offer free shipping?
We do not. For the time being we only have two options: 'Store Pickup' which is free, and 'Media Mail' which is a $5.98 flat rate for any number of LPs. If you made it through checkout and did not pay for shipping, you may have accidentally missed the option buttons. It's an easy fix though, so just email us!
