Mdou Moctar EP Series

Two new Mdou Moctar EPs were released a couple weeks back and I've been spinning them on repeat in the shop. Compiling alternate sessions and live takes recorded between 2017 and 2020 in their home country of Niger, the two volumes are packed with unreleased, need-to-hear gems. The kickoff of the series, the first track on the first 12", is a 13 minute guitar + bass + drum machine jam that locks into a groove and soars. It's a slow burner. Essential listening...like all of their stuff.
